IL VALLEY VETERANS MEMORIAL BRIDGE

The Illinois Valley Veterans Memorial Bridge rebuild began in February of 2016 to replace the old bridge which was built in 1934. After 845 days of work, the new bridge opened for traffic in June of 2018. This new bridge features one lane of traffic in each direction, as well as 8 ft. wide shoulders which the old bridge did not have, making it safe for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to cross the river now.
The Illinois Valley Veterans Memorial Bridge links Bureau and Putnam Counties and cost $41 to build.
